What to Expect

We are so glad to welcome you on a Sunday for our 11am service! We are currently meeting at P.S. 101, 2 Russell Pl, Queens, NY 11375 in-person. Alternatively, you can join us online on our Ascension Forest Hills Youtube Channel. Our diverse congregation is full of professionals and families from all ages and from all around Queens who desire to engage together with Christ and the Bible in interesting and inspiring ways.

Come as you are- there’s no dress code at Ascension. Feel free to come in whatever feels most comfortable to you.

The service will begin with a couple of songs from our talented worship team. With a piano, guitar, violin, drum, and our faith-filled singers, Ascension incorporates a variety of music into our service, from traditional hymns to contemporary tunes.

After a reading from the Bible, our Lead Pastor Michael Kytka shares an exposition-style sermon on a select passage from the Scriptures. You can also expect a few “call and response” forms of liturgy as the church is engaged in a call to worship and personal confession. For a few examples of Pastor Michael’s preaching, click here

Once a month, Ascension celebrates The Lord’s Supper (Communion or the Eucharist as you may know it) in order to remember Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for our sins. If you are a baptized member of a gospel-believing church, we invite you to participate in this family meal. Otherwise, many of our regular attenders who are still asking questions about Jesus take the time to reflect on their own faith.

Post-service, we invite you to fellowship with us. Chat with fellow church-goers, ask the Pastor a question, or pray with someone off to the side in this special time. Throughout the week, we also invite you to join us for various fellowship opportunities such as Bible studies, movie nights, dinners, and other outings.

Do you have children? Our Children's Sunday School currently takes place at P.S. 101. For more information, please visit our Children's Ministry page.
