OUR HISTORY
In September 2003, a group of residents from Forest Hills and surrounding neighborhoods gathered at a local restaurant to discuss planting a church in Forest Hills. Several in this group attended Redeemer Presbyterian Church of Manhattan. Also in attendance was the Kytka family, who were native New Yorkers temporarily stationed in St. Louis where Michael was attending seminary.
The following summer upon Michael's graduation, the Kytka family moved to Forest Hills. Together with the Redeemer Church Planting Center and along with a group of people who wanted to be a part of a local expression of the Church at large, they worked towards making Ascension a reality.
Ascension Church launched our first public service in April 2006.
